‘Rules of Professional Conduct’

CODE OF ETHICS: LPCP’s goal is – working together for a greater unity and betterment of our industry.

Our code of ethics is to educate the consumer, as well as setting and maintaining the highest sound practices that are consistent with permanent makeup artists, traditional tattoo artists, piercers and branding professionals.

1.   Members must be in compliance with CDC/OSHA guidelines regarding regulations to safely practice in the permanent makeup, tattoo, piercing or branding industry. This includes Federal/State/County/City laws.

2.   Members agree to research their local areas of place of practice in the art of permanent makeup,  tattooing, piercing or branding and to be in compliance with the laws set forth for the industry via local agencies, i.e. health departments etc.

3.   Members agree that permanent makeup and tattooing is considered a permanent process even though fading may occur over time. Some countries call it Semi-Permanent Makeup but, it is considered a tattoo, and in fact not completely without some permanency and discomfort.

4.  Members shall not slander, insult, say, text, email or by any other electronic means defame any other person, technician, vendor or products.

5.   Members will not provide misleading or false statements in advertisements regarding the actual process of permanent makeup, tattooing, piercing or branding , nor the products supplied to generate permanent makeup, a tattoo, piercing or branding but will fully educate and supply (All information to the consumer if asked) of any of the above for the industry. Which includes all points in the code of ethics.

6.   Members will promote goodwill and professionalism that includes sound business practices including but not limited to the above code of ethics. This would also include, unethical/deceitful and immoral behavior towards business practices, including verbal or written communications towards clients and non clients in the beauty, permanent makeup, piercing, branding and tattoo industry, including peers.

7.  Members agree that any infraction on points above, and upon a professional investigation, may be expelled and prohibited from affiliation with our organization including but not limited to, conferences and continuing educational workshops . This will be decided by the Board of Directors.
