MRI’s and Permanent Makeup – Is It Safe?

I have personally had 6 MRI’s.                                                                                                                                               MRI of the Brain                                                        MRI of the brain www.fotosearch.com k0055583

Did I feel any pain, discomfort or irritation
during any of these MRI’s?
“I DID NOT FEEL ANYTHING FROM THE MRI’S”!

I had my eyeliner done in 1988, my brows in 1988,

with a colour refresher in 2003 and 2011

and I had full lip colour in 1993.

About the MRI’s

Yes, that is a lot of MRI’s  for one person!

All of the MRI’s were of my head.

I will share with you what each facility asked prior to my MRI’s.

Prior to each MRI the technician:

1. Asked if I had permanent makeup and asked how long ago and what procedures I had done.

2. Asked if I had permanent eyeliner and said that it would show up as an artifact (shadow). As long as the Radiologist knew I had the eyeliner I would have an accurate MRI.

3. Did not ask if I had any tattoo’s or permanent makeup. So, I asked the technician why he did not ask me if I had either one. He said that if he saw any shadows in that specific area it would show up as an artifact (shadow) and they would know it was a tattoo.

4. Asked if I had any tattoo’s or permanent makeup in the past year.

5. Asked if I had any permanent makeup or tattoo’s and when I had them.

6. Did not ask about permanent makeup or tattoos. He only asked if I was claustrophobic as it was a closed MRI machine.

I  used iron oxides organic and inorganic pigments for all of my procedures.

Please share this article  and Dr. Shellock’s article with all of your

client’s that  need to have an MRI of their head!
